Culinary Schools In Washington Do You Recommend The Art Institute Of Washington For A Culinary Degree?

Do you recommend the Art Institute of Washington for a culinary degree? - culinary schools in washington

I want to open a restaurant and wondered whether she should recommend cooking schools in DC, or should make, not only about the cooking school. I do not know whether you are a school like the Art Institute of Washington or Stratford University does not go a waste of time and money, or. Recommend to a school or a program.

Well, I would not recommend the Art Institute of Washington for a culinary career. The Art Institute teaches visual arts, not the kitchen. ;-)

But probably the intention to pray, about the Culinary Institute of Washington. The son of a friend who attended, and he earned his living as a cook (at a country club, where applicable), so I think that the training was not well developed.

Unfortunately, this is not the whole answer, because I think there must be a belief first question: You really like to work in a restaurant? The schedule is a killer. You need to work evenings and weekends, because that is when people eat. Unfortunately for you it is also the time * * would leave, not necessarily a restaurant. And the salary is not great, especially in the first. Then there must be a labor of love. If you really want to learn to use their imagination, a school for good food cook, is the means to do so. But his desire is within you - that nobody, not save the school - not to be.

SameIf you want to work in a restaurant, you should also think about what we do. Cooking is the point, thought of everything? If so, a cooking school, culinary arts for the institution, whether Washington or elsewhere, is certainly the right way. But if I like to seriously consider in restaurants - work outside the house, for example - then you should, a program for hotel and restaurant. The most famous and perhaps best of these troops at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Another very good program at Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Iceland. Johnson & Wales is much easier to get into Cornell. And there are many other good programs in the country.

Want, on the other hand, if you cook, there is little doubt that the most famous cooking school in the country and one of the best in the world, the Culinary Institute of America by their initials (known as the "CIA"). http://www.ciachef.edu/ training is no more or less defeated. Most other cooking schools, includingING at the Culinary Institute in Washington in the name of his CIA boss in the original packaging.

They have a lot to think about, so I am going to propose a book to make sure that you can decide. In "The Making of a Chef: Mastering Heat at the Culinary Institute, the author, Michael Ruhlman, describes what was for him to go through the training of the CIA. In fact, it was only part of the program because he is a writer, not a cook, but reading this book will give you an idea of what he was doing, and help you know if what you want. I know that some libraries have this book in the Washington area, or you can get in paperback from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Making-Chef-Master ...

Good luck!
